Building Stronger Communities Through Compassion

We are dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing hardship by providing essential services, community programs, and opportunities that inspire hope and create lasting positive change.

Our story

A charity built by the community, for the community

Strive Charity was founded in 2001 by a group of local volunteers who noticed older residents in Romsey were becoming isolated. What started as a weekly lunch club has grown into three core services reaching hundreds of people every year.

We are independent, locally governed, and entirely focused on the people we serve. Every pound raised stays in this community.

What we do

Three services, one mission

Our day centre, befriending calls programme, and community transport work together to keep older people connected, safe, and active in Romsey.

What we do

For people who need us most

We support adults aged 65 and over, with a particular focus on those living alone, recently bereaved, or without family nearby. No referral needed — anyone can get in touch.

All our services are free at the point of use, funded entirely by donations and grants.
